About the Bakery Art Gallery

The Bakery Art Gallery is a former bakery that has undergone extensive renovation to transform it into a working gallery with a number of artists & studios on site.

The gallery is the sole project of artist Michael Johnson, who began painting four years ago following a knee injury and who has recently exhibited in The Art Works and London Art Gallery.

The Bakery offers affordable studio space to a variety of selected artists, set amid bright gallery surroundings, and shows original art from local and national artists. It is also home to Breadbox Recording Studio, situated in Studio 7, the project of Michael's singer-songwriter wife Elaine Johnson.

Says Michael, "We have had amazing talented people through the door in the short time we have been open. The gallery will fill a void, becoming a platform for creativity across art forms. For those who simply wish to enjoy the experience of art, a slice of life seen through the artists' eye, everyone is welcome to drop in Tuesday through Saturday 10am - 5pm"
